The Problem: Inequality

Traditional fishermen contributes towards 70% of the fish supply for food in South East Asia, yet one boat with 3 – 4 fishermen earning up to RM3300 monthly

The Problem: Unsustainability

Unsustainable methods of fishing (dynamite fishing in Sabah; cyanide bombs in Indonesia) due to depleting fish stocks & a lack of diversity in technology & tools; and/or a lack of awareness & education.

The Problem: Overfishing

Global commercial fishes decreased by 90% in the oceans, as a result of by-catch (70%-80% from trawlers in Malaysia; from overfishing.)

The Problem: Antiquity

Lack of tools & technology transfer, traditional fishermen facing increasing stiff competition with industrial fishermen
